Absorbed in the Scriptures
Shrirang Chavan was a relative of Gurumaharaj from Mumbai who came to inspire him and convinced him to rejoin and complete his studies. When Gurumaharaj went to Mumbai he started living in the community of workers of Kohinoor Mill, Dadar in a room given to him for his studies. Gurumaharaj’s elder brother informed everyone to take care of him and ensure that he doesn't go anywhere out of Mumbai.
Being there Gurumaharaj started reading The times of India every day for hours to improve his English. It was after the marriage of S. Chavan that he along with his wife shifted to the room next to Gurumaharaj.
During those days it was difficult to get water in the Dadar area, Knowing that Guru Maharaj would stay awake studying the whole night his sister-in-law would ask him to wake her up when water comes at night so that she can fill the water for using it later in the day.
Sometimes it would so happen that Gurumaharaj would go to continue his reading by keeping the bucket to fill but because of being absorbed in his reading the water would overflow and reach the house of S. Chavan. This became an everyday affair.
Gurumaharaj then used to take away that water with Shrirang and his wife from the home for the whole night.
This pastime unfolds how absorbed Gurumaharaj gets when reading scriptures.
