Lokanath Swami Maharaj Glories


1955- The year which marked the beginning of schooling of 6-year-old Raghunath!

 During those days teacher used to ask Srila Gurumaharaj to recite poems as he was intellectual and everyone's favourite.

From this instance, we can see how Srila Gurumaharaj used to lead his classroom when he was in 3rd grade.

As we know how Lord Krsna when he was in Vrindavan, used to preach to the Nand Baba & Vrajwasis regarding Govardhan puja or some other arrangements, as Lord was acquainted with the fact that he himself have to give these lessons to mankind through the teachings of Bhagavad Gita. So somewhere or other he was preparing for it.

As a pure devotee of the lord following his footsteps  Maharaj was leading the class when he was in std 3rd, as he knew he is going to soon lead the world into the magic of the holy name through his melodious kirtans!

He was not only delivering the students of the class at that time but he was preparing to deliver us, to the whole world.

Shrirang Chavan was a relative of  Gurumaharaj from Mumbai who came to inspire him and convinced him to rejoin and complete his studies. When Gurumaharaj went to Mumbai he started living in the community of workers of Kohinoor Mill, Dadar in a room given to him for his studies. Gurumaharaj’s elder brother informed everyone to take care of him and ensure that he doesn't go anywhere out of Mumbai.  Being there Gurumaharaj started reading The times of India every day for hours to improve his English. Once a grihastha disciple happened to converse with a Panda (Pujari) in Jagannath temple in Puri.  The Panda was narrating how Lord mercifully even today speaks and performs pastimes with certain devotees on this planet and one such person who is the senior most pujari of the temple, was narrating that in Iskcon there is one Lokanath Swami with whom Jagganath speaks!

When Gurumaharaj took sannyas he wrote a letter to his family that now I have took sannyasa and I want one more person from our family to join me, so HG Sita Mataji, Gurumaharaj’s sister took her son, who was 5-6 years old to Juhu temple.  Gurumaharaj to pick her up went to Vile Parle which is far from the temple so Gurumaharaj took the boy on his back from Vile Parle to Juhu temple on foot only to not waste Srila Prabhupāda’s money.
